Offered in:Fall, Spring, and Summer
Credits:3
Prerequisites:MAT 266

Course Description: This course covers linear systems, matrices, determinants, vector spaces, bases, linear transformations, eigenvectors, norms, inner products, decompositions, applications, and problem solving using MATLAB.

Course Objectives:

  1. Use matrices to solve linear systems of equations.
  2. Verify whether a given set is a vector space.
  3. Find bases of subspaces.
  4. Find matrix representations of linear transformations and use them in applied problems.
  5. Determine eigenvalues and bases of eigenspaces.
  6. Determine and use matrix factorizations such as LU, QR and SVD.

These are some of the tools that are useful for this course (contributions welcome!)
